Shareholders’ Equity or in more common parlance, Net Worth reflects the company’s paid up share capital and retained earnings. It shows the net assets remaining with company after its debts and liabilities have been paid off. A positive net worth shows that the Company has enough assets to pay its liabilities. In this session we will cover the calculation and what goes into the Shareholders’ Equity, whether Dividends reduce a Company’s Net Worth, etc. We will also interpret the Shareholders’ Equity through ratio analysis- how the assets have been generated- through equity, through debt finances etc. We will also cover Debt-Equity ratio, Equity Ratio, Return on Shareholders’ Equity etc.

Speaker: Kamakshi Sinha has been in the finance sector for more than twenty years, with a well-rounded experience starting with Articleship at S.B.Billimoria, completing Chartered Accountancy under the flagship of Deloitte India (then A.F.Ferguson & Co.) After a vast and varied experience in Audit & Assurance, she moved on to the other side of the table and joined manufacturing and trading sectors. Currently she resides in Bangkok and is the Financial Controller at Fenatex Co., Ltd. and Fena Spinning Co., Ltd (a subsidiary of Fenatex Co., Ltd). She has successfully led and implemented a cloud based customized ERP for Fenatex (a three billion plus baht company). She is passionate about Finance and Accounting and is dynamic to the changes and amendments of rules and regulations of the Finance world. When she is not engrossed in the numbers and ratios, she loves cooking, reading and listening to music. She is currently reading the works of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, titled Rashmirathi.
