Isocyanates are a family of relatively low molecular weight, reactive chemicals used in the making of polyurethanes. They are primarily derived from amine molecules which are phosgenated to convert the amine into an isocyanate group. Other non-phosgene methods of making isocyanates are an area of active research. This webinar will discuss the raw materials and chemical process used to make the most common isocyanates used in polyurethanes.
